I Love Green Smoothies in the Morning!

Photo by Westcoast Weezie as found on Flickr

"What do I mean by green smoothie? Here is one of my favorite recipes: 4 ripe pears, 1 bunch of parsley, and 4 cups of water. Blended well. Green smoothies are very nutritious. I believe the ratio in them is optimal for human consumption: at about 60%... ripe organic fruit mixed with about 40%... organic green vegetables."

Hi all,

Today is going to be busy and I want to get this post published today... I'm still on a learning curve regarding using this site but am enjoying the opportunity to express myself.,

My original green smoothie inspiration came from Victoria Boutenko who has an awesome website and has written several books with the most well know book being , Green for Life. I am an affiliate of her site and will try to get the link up today but don't know if I will figure it out (if I do, I will come back and update this post).,

I have heard all my life, as you may have, "eat your vegetables"... however, I hadn't realized that greens, especially green leafy vegetables (the darker green, the better), contained so much nutrition... I have discovered in my research that I need to eat more "greens"... hence the lovely green smoothies... because I simply don't have the time or the stomach to chew the optimum of greens daily... such as a bunch of parsley... and some of them taste a lot better with banana and celery... my faves!,

On this last day of 2009, I am so grateful for... my spiritual path... my family... my numerous friends... improving health... and, this year, TA DA!, the raw vegan community who are soooo awesome... full of life, fun, and good health... loving, sharing, and on and on... they add so much joy to my life and I will be sharing much information about them with you.,

Got to go... take care.,

Green Smoothie Greetings from Sunny California!

World In A Drop photo by Audrey Michael
Hi All,

As a novice blogger, I have been wondering what I could even say that would attract anyone to my blog... one of the tips for overcoming anxiety regarding public speaking is to take the focus off of self and ask, "What would I like to share with these people?"... maybe the same question could work for public writing?

I created and implemented a three month raw/living vegan food plan yesterday... I have been "transitioning" to raw/living food for two years now... with much yo-yoing and starting over... it reminds me of what I have seen with those who quit smoking... they quit over and over until it finally sticks and they are free of cigarettes... I am confident that will work for my cooked food addiction as well.

Fortunately (who knew I could be thankful for asthma), I finally got ill enough to be motivated to get serious and accomplish my goal... I feel better already... and so far, eating only fresh raw fruits and vegetables is much easier than it ever has been before.

I have said many times that raw/living veganism is not a religion... I like to be flexible and not try to convert others to my beliefs... well, I think for three months I am going to make it my religion... not the part about converting others, but focusing and transforming my life for the better.

Well, I want to keep these posts short and sweet... we'll see how that works out :).

Joy and blessings,

Patricia A'amina
